What visa do I apply for?

The visa process is managed by the organisation’s administrative team and all the details are discussed during the induction process.

Can I help in the classroom for just one month?

We typically have set a policy for volunteers to commit to a minimum of one semester or 5 months. We have historically found that having the same teaching helpers for the full semester is better for the Foundation, the volunteer and most importantly the children. You can email us for more specific information about how you can get involved during your visit.

Can I just come to visit the school?

You can visit the school and see the students at our after school programme, coconut club. However, all visitors must read through the Foundation policies, sign the code of conduct and go through the induction process with the volunteer co-ordinator. Please DO NOT just show up at the school on your own as this is not allowed.

I live in Phuket and I’d like to help out on a weekly basis for at least 6 months. Do I need to do an interview?

Yes, you can get involved on a weekly basis. While a formal interview may not be necessary, please get in touch with us to discuss details, go through the induction process, and meet the team before you begin.

Do I need to commit to a regular schedule?

Yes, we do ask that visitors/helpers commit to a regular schedule as best as possible, as this produces better outcomes for the children.

What should I wear to visit?

Teachers, volunteers and any visitors to the school must adhere to the school dress code. Despite being a tropical island shoulders and knees must be covered. See-through or other inappropriate attire is not acceptable. We ask all visitors to dress as neatly as possible. Get in touch with us if you are unsure what is appropriate.

Visitors not following these guidelines will be denied entry to the school.

Where are the schools located?
The Baan Kalim School is located between Patong and Kamala in Kalim Bay. It is right down the road from the Novotel Hotel and Baan Rim Pa restaurant.

Kamala is about ten kilometres from Patong and five kilometres from Surin Beach. The Rachaprachnukroh 36 school Kamala fronts the beach on the southern end of Kamala Bay. Our office is in Kamala about a kilometre from Kamala School. Kamala is a 30-40 minute drive from Phuket Town on a motorbike.

I sent an email to the Foundation last week and have not received a response?

The Foundation operates with a very small administrative team, receiving a huge amount of emails. We endeavour to respond to emails as quickly as possible, but during peak times prior to major fundraising events, we may take a week or more to respond.
