The Foundation is funded through generous donations from businesses and personal pledges as well as through fundraising events. With the help of local businesses we run a number of events throughout the year.  All proceeds from ticket sales, auction and raffle prizes go to the Foundation to ensure that we can continue to provide English language lessons, extracurricular activities and field trips for our needy students.


2010 Phuket Property Dot Com Pro Am Invitational
Friday 5th November

The Phuket Property Dot Com Pro Am Invitational pairs top professional golfers with amateurs at Phuket's Blue Canyon Country Club on 5th November 2010 in a round of golf to raise money for Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation.

This is the first charity Pro Am golf invitational of its kind on Phuket Island and offers over US$150,000 of prizes. The 2010 Pro Am Invitational will bring up to 30 touring golf professionals from around the world to Phuket, further cementing Phuket's position as a leading golf resort destination in Asia. European Tour and Asian Tour players will join with amateurs to play Blue Canyon Country Club's celebrated Canyon Course, voted Best Golf Course in Asia by FinanceAsia (2003, 2006, 2008, 2009), followed by a four-course gala dinner. Being the only three-time host of the Johnnie Walker Classic (1994, 1998, 2007), the Canyon Course is renowned for its difficulty and will test professionals and amateurs alike.

Tour players confirmed include: five-time Asian Tour winner Simon Yates who is also in the Top 10 career money winners list; five-time winner and longest hitter on the Asian Tour Scott Hend; ten-time winner Gerry Norquist (Asian Tour); three-time winner Terry Pilkadaris (Asian Tour); Jason Knutzon who is currently in the top 10 money list for this year (Asian Tour), and Anthony Kang who is in the Top 10 career money winners list.

Over US$150,000 of prizes are on offer including a luxurious designer condominium valued at THB3.1 million from yooPhuket, to every golfer who shoots a hole-in-one on the 17th hole, once described by Fred Couples as one of the best par 3's anywhere in the world. In addition, prizes are offered for nearest to the pin on each hole and for overall tournament winners.

The Invitational will take place on the Canyon Course with a two tee start teeing off at 11.30am. Golfers will receive a goody bag valued at over THB3,000. Entry for members of Blue Canyon Country Club is THB7,000, and THB9,000 for non-members.

Fashion Show, at Andara and Silk
Sunday 12th September from 12noon

Andara and Silk are hosting a fashion show Passion For Fashion. Starting at 12noon, with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, at 1pm there will be a runway show debuting Marisa Zeman's Hong Kong based line, "Nude is Rude". The show is for the sophisticated woman and the clothes will be for both city and beach. The show will be followed by a two hour Thai tapas buffet brunch at Silk; guests will be invited to dine inside or by the pool weather permitting. Tickets are just 1,000 baht. There will also be a raffle featuring Andara properties, spa and dining events.

Dj Jay from 91.5FM will be spinning the music for the show which will be broadcast live and Dj Danny O will be MCing the event.

Charity Pub Quiz, at Sundown Cafe, Surin Beach
Thursday, June 17 from 7pm to 10pm

Test your smarts and those of your best mates! Come down to Sundown Cafe at Surin Beach for a great night of comical competition. Teams of 4 will compete for prizes and there will be a raffle. Eddie Saunders, previously of London funk band Push, bandmate of Seal and a vocalist with Galliano will be crooning some cool tunes. Come for the games or just to hang out and grab some great nibbles. 400 baht to enter/ 50 baht per raffle ticket with all proceeds going to Phuket Has Been Good To Us. See you there!

One Night in May - Saturday 1st May 2010

Artist Bon will be displaying his incredible work at Bodega in Patong. A percentage of all sales will be donated to the Bodega Project (managed by the Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation) with the aim of exposing local disadvantaged children to art. There will be live music provided by DJ K.I.T.T.Y, DJ Daryll, DJ Q Tooth, and live jamming sessions with our fabulous regulars. Yummy snacks will be provided by Chef Jed.

A 4 Art Exhibition - Africa Australia America Asia - Wednesay 9th December

The art event showcased paintings by talented residential students from Kamala School. International and local artists who donated some of their best pieces for this excellent cause. Take a look at some of the paintings. Some are still for sale at Hung Fat's in Kalim; if you see one you want to purchase just call Tina Hall on 0801 439 554.
