November 2011: Coconut Club students win Phuket News Art Competitions!

In July King, Bo and Guitar participated in the 1st Art Competition and King was chosen as one of the winners. In August we again had a winner, well actually 3! Dang and Nop won with their art piece of an angry dragon and Pim with his street art of a beautiful interesting looking phee (ghost). And in October Pim, Asee and Ploy have been announced as winners in the fourth Phuket News Art competition. Well done to all our talented artist and fingers crossed one of our students might win a major prize which will be announced at the end of the year.

September 2011: Dylan Young to race JK Racing Series as an Ambassador of Phuket Has Been Good To Us
Phuket local, Dylan Young, will be racing the JK Asia Racing Series in Singapore September 25-27. A native of Australia Young resides in Phuket and will be bearing the emblem of Phuket Has Been Good To Us as an ambassador. Young will also be visiting Kamala school to address the students of Coconut Club about road safety and awareness. Two lucky guests of Into the Big Blue were also lucky enough to have watched Young in action having secured two pit passes at this year's event. To read more please see our Media coverage page.

August 2011: Phuket Oilfield Classic & Donate 147,000 thb

A big thank you to and Mark Cameron for the incredible donation of 147,000 thb from the 2011 Phuket Oilfield Classic golf tournament!

Cameron kindly donated a portion of the players’ entry fees as well as the bulk of the profits from the evening’s auction prizes. As the event had a guest golf Pro from Japan it was unanimously decided to donate 50,000 thb to the Japan relief fund as well.
It was a great event that was enjoyed by all participants, many returning for the third consecutive year. We hope to see them all back again for the POC 2012 event!

August 2011: Cooking with Bree at Coconut Club

We sadly bid adieu to Bree McCulloch who has been leading cooking with the students of the Coconut Club every Tuesday for over a year now, how time flies! With Bree’s patient guidance the students have whipped up everything from cupcakes to hamburgers! Thank you so much for all your help and generosity of spirit; you will be dearly missed!

July 2011: Australian Love

Big thanks go out to June Murphy who hand sewed 150 bags for birthday presents for the students of Coconut Club! They turned out great and the children absolutely loved them. Additional thanks to Erin Boyle and Adrian Staunton who transported the bags and other donations they collected from their lovely friends and family including: Karen Boyle, Lynn Kearvell, Premier Art Supplies in Adelaide, Sue Mellor, Sally Choo, Irene VanSetten, Allyson Cervelli, Dorothy Callaghan, Kate Giles, and Kaaren Haywood. Thank you all for your generous donations!

June 2011: Phuket Property Dot Com Pro Am Invitational

On Friday June 17th Phuket Property Dot Com held the 2nd annual Pro Am Invitational at  Laguna Phuket Golf Club. Thirty touring golf professionals from around Asia made their way to Phuket to take part in what has been named Phuket’s Number One Golf Day. PHBGTU Foundation has graciously been named the beneficiary for this event and over 1 million baht was raised for the children of Phuket! A big thanks to everyone who took part. June 2011: Father's Day Card and Bake Sale in Hong Kong

Michael Harries and fellow classmates in Hong Kong recently organized a father’s day card and bake sale event on June 17th to help raise money for PHBGTU Foundation. Through their hard work they were able to raise a total of 10,000 baht! Way to go guys and thank you so much for your efforts to help the children of Phuket!

June 2011: Island Technology 10 Year Anniversary

Island Technology had a great 10 year anniversary bash at Thanyapura Sports & Leisure Club on Saturday 4th June. Over 200 guests enjoyed spectacular entertainment whilst celebrating Island Technology’s success. Rather than bringing gifts, Island Technology kindly asked guests to donate to the Foundation. Over 24,000 was donated on the night and Island Technology kindly rounded the donations up to 30,000 baht. Thank you Khun Gay, and all of our staff for a great night and great support!!

May 2011: ‘Into the Big Blue’ May ball

On Saturday May 7th, Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation held the second-annual May Ball at the Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket. This lovely night featured a four-course dinner with a wide selection of drinks for the guests to enjoy before the entertainment began. Complete with Al Chappes piano tunes and Rihanna's great moves, the guests received their share of entertainment before a long night of dancing. The night didn't end there, an after party was held at Tapas Tree where many continued the dancing until the late hours of the night. Overall, it was a great night in which PHBGTU Foundation raised over 2 million Baht, half of our annual expenses. Thanks to all who came to this memorable night and contributed to help the children of Phuket!

March 2011: Coco the Magical Clown
Each Saturday at the Kata Beach Resort guests can watch Coco the Clown perform while enjoying a great ‘all you can eat’ buffet. All donations go to PHBGTU! So don’t wait and head down to Kata Beach Resort.
