Khun Pensri Tuanthong has been involved with the Foundation since its inception. Her late husband, Tom McNamara, was the founder of Phuket Has Been Good To Us and she has continued his legacy work.  Khun Pensri has maintained the support of Mr. McNamara's enterprise, Baan Rim Pa Restaurant Group, as a major sponsor. Khun Autcharawan Pratumwan has been involved with the Foundation since 2006 when we established our Board of Directors. She donates her time and computer expertise through her company, Island Technology. Island Technology supports all of the IT needs of our Foundation, free of charge. คุณอัจฉราวรรณ ประทุมวัลย์ มีส่วนร่วมในมูลนิธิฯ มาตั้งแต่ปี 2549 คุณอัจฉราวรรณ สละเวลา และสนับสนุนองค์กรการกุศลนี้ โดยผ่านทางบริษัทฯไอร์แลนด์เทคโนโลยี และสนับสนุนความต้องการทางด้านเทคโนโลยี โดยไม่คิดค่าบริการใดๆทั้งสิ้น

Khun Prayad Anaphol has supported the Foundation since it was first registered as a Thai charity in 2006. He personally manages the visa and work permit requirements of our staff and volunteers, liaising with government offices and keeping our records up to date.

Office Manager, Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation ผู้จัดการสำนักงาน,มูลนิธิภูเก็ตมอบสิ่งดีๆแก่เรา

Khun Arporn has been the Office Manager for the Foundation office since 2013.  She liaises with the Thai directors and teachers at the government schools we support and enables us to communicate with Thai speakers in the community.

คุณอาภรณ์ เป็นผู้จัดการสำนักงานของมูลนิธิฯ มาตั้งแต่ปี 2556 คุณอาภรณ์ ประสานงานกับผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียน และครูของโรงเรียน รัฐบาลต่างๆ ที่มูลนิธิฯ เข้าไปทำงาน และ ช่วยให้มูลนิธิฯสามารถติดต่อสื่อสารกับคนที่พูดภาษาไทยในชุมชนได้

Susanne (Sue) Ultman
Chairman of the Board of Managers and Advisory Panel

Living in Phuket since 2000, Sue was here working for Baan Rim Pa restaurant group when the 2004 Tsunami struck. Following the destruction of local schools, her boss, the late Tom McNamara, started Phuket Has Been Good To Us. Sue volunteered to handle the marketing and assist with administration, fundraising and events. In 2010, she became part of the Board of Managers and took on the Chair in 2014. In 2018 she created an Advisory Panel; an ever-changing group of expats and Thais who initiate new fundraising ideas. Sue continues to play a major part in promoting and fundraising for the charity.

Michael Chugg
Honorary Board Member

An Australian entrepreneur, businessman and concert tour promoter, Michael Chugg has been an active supporter of PHBGTU since its inception. As a promoter and manager, he founded Frontier Touring Company (1979-99) and Michael Chugg Entertainment (2000-present).  In 1998 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia with the citation "for service to music and the performing arts, particularly in relation to the promotion of Australian artists and to fundraising for youth and children's charities". 

 
 
Arnaud C.M.C. Verstraete
Honorary Board Member

Born in Antwerp, Belgium, Arnaud moved to Thailand in 1992 after a 15 year military career. As a passionate Rotary Member (R.C. of Patong Beach) he served as Club President 2005-2006. Through his leadership, phenomenal post-tsunami projects were completed and numerous awards were received. In October 2011, he decided to vacate his active role on the Board of the Foundation to take up the position of Honorary Director.

 
 
Michael Weinstein
Honorary Board Member

Michael lived New York City for 20 years where he worked in the real estate industry as a commercial real estate broker and founding partner of Retail Consulting Services. He also co-owned several businesses. Michael's charity work began in the early 80's in NYC, where he became one of the founding members of New York Cares. In the early nineties, Michael also worked with City Kids and was instrumental in securing the producer of the first "City Kids" benefit at Carnegie Hall in NYC, which raised $1.2 million in its total efforts. He moved to Phuket in 1999 and has been helping PHBGTU for years. 

 
 
Khun Kritidech Srabua
Honorary Board Member
Born and raised in Phuket, Khun Krit is the CEO and the founder of Oriental Events Thailand. Formerly a hotelier, he is responsible for the overall operations and running of Oriental Events, where his vast experience in the travel industry is invaluable to all their clients. For the last few years Khun Krit has been an avid supporter of Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation, helping to stage professional and innovative events through both Oriental Events and Productions by Kritidech. As an honorary member, he continues to offer guidance and support in fundraising events.

Administration

ARPORN NORTIP
Office Administrator
Arporn is a local Thai and lives in Phuket near Kamala. She joined the Foundation in July 2013 and brings a wealth of experience to the Administration position. She has a University degree and has spent many years as a teacher and as ground service staff and sales manager in the airline industry. She is appreciative of the staff, the teachers, and the volunteers who come from all over the world and work hard to help the underprivileged Thai children in having a better quality of life. Once she was aware of this, she decided she wanted to help in the best way possible. Her position is to support the overseas staff and to translate Thai to English and English to Thai when necessary, and do office administration work.
GRAHAM HASLAM
Events and Fundraising
Graham has lived in Phuket for over 7 years during which time he has been a dedicated volunteer with Phuket Has Been Good To Us. He organised Phuket’s first charity Pro-Am golf tournament to raise funds for the Foundation and currently, he is often the MC on pub quizzes and auctions held for the foundation. He hopes that he can help to raise much-needed funds for the Foundation through his passion for golf and contacts he makes on the 19th hole!
TINA HALL
Director of Operations
Tina volunteered with Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation for several months before joining the staff full-time as Director of Operations. She has worked for a number of not for profit organizations in both England and Australia. Tina has a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and Marketing from the University of East London and has worked for over 15 years in event and office management. She is committed to ensuring that the Foundation's vision of providing a better future for the children of Phuket is fulfilled. You will find Tina at the Foundation's office in Kamala during the week. On Monday - Thursday afternoons between 3.50pm and 4.40pm she is at Kamala School at the Coconut Club with the residential students.
SARAH DORMAN
Office Volunteer - Human Resources and SAC Programme Manager

With a passion for traveling and experiencing new cultures, Sarah has been working abroad for over four years through non-profit organizations like PHBGTU. After graduating from Boston University with a master’s degree in International Relations and Communications in 2015, Sarah left the United States to work abroad for personal and professional growth, networking through New Zealand, South Africa and Tanzania before joining PHBGTU Foundation in January 2019.

Sarah oversees the Sponsor-A-Child, Volunteer and Visitor programmes for the foundation, and is the point of contact for school tours, donations and volunteering inquiries. She also enjoys spending time at school, assisting in after- school activities and taking silly photos of students and staff whenever she gets the chance.

ANNA ROSE ELKINS
Office Volunteer - Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator

Anna Rose began her nonprofit career with a chapter of Habitat for Humanity in the United States while finishing her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations. With Habitat for Humanity she held multiple roles including grant writing, fundraising event coordinating, donor relations and management, and intern mentorship. In 2016, she began volunteer teaching in rural Vietnam with the nonprofit Coins for Change. After two years teaching in Vietnam, she decided to explore a new country in Southeast Asia and joined the PHBGTU team in Phuket.

Anna Rose helps PHBGTU organize fundraising events, business donor relations, website and social media presence, and grant projects. When she’s not in the office, Anna Rose joins Coconut Club to interact with the students at Kamala School. Her favorite day of CC is Thursday when the students practice cooking!

Teachers

JERRALEEN BALAIS
Senior English Teacher At Rajaprachanukroh 36 School Kamala

Jerlin, a Filipino national, graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in School Guidance and Character Education. She is a licensed teacher in the Philippines and started teaching in 2001. In 2005, Jerlin travelled to Thailand to do education-related volunteer work for the children of migrants and refugees along Thai-Myanmar border. She also helped the outreach programme in Phang Nga province for the displaced Karenni victims of the 2004 tsunami. In her last position, Jerlin was the Primary Years Programme Coordinator of an International Baccalaureate school in Penang, Malaysia. She was directly involved in the curriculum planning, teacher training, evaluation, events and charity projects of the programme. Jerlin is our Senior Teacher and teaches at Rajaprachanukroh 36 School in Kamala.

ESRA DOLOT
English Teacher At Rajaprachanukroh 36 School Kamala & Baan Kalim School

Esra, a Filipino national, graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree and Special Education major. She became a licensed teacher in the Philippines and has gained a strong foundation of experience in handling general students as well as with special needs students. She specializes in working with students with autism, learning disabilities, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Aside from teaching, she has also trained and worked as a behavioral therapist, following Dr. Lovaas’ Applied Behavior Analysis therapy. Her mother and grandmother are both teachers and inspired her to become one also. She loves learning and wants to inspire her students with her passion for education through Phuket Has Been Good To Us.

JESLYNN LOO
English Teacher At Rajaprachanukroh 36 School Kamala

Jeslynn, a Malaysian national, graduated from the University of Roehampton, London. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and started teaching in 2011. Since then, she has been teaching kindergarten and primary school students in Malaysia and Thailand. She was the Co-curricular Activities Coordinator at two schools in Malaysia, where she was directly involved in planning and organizing events and activities for the students. While Jeslynn was teaching in Malaysia, she was also involved in a reputable NGO, where she taught and organized activities for refugee children. In 2016, she relocated to Thailand. Jeslynn is very pleased to be part of the Phuket Has Been Good To Us team, and hopes to make a difference in the students’ lives beyond the classroom curriculum.

YULYA SOROKINA
English Teacher At Rajaprachanukroh 36 School Kamala

Yulya, a Russian national, graduated from the Russian Academy of Education. She has a BA in Linguistics and a degree in Fine Arts and Design. In 2010, she moved to the United States to continue her education abroad. She completed several linguistic courses in New York and an ESL course in California. Before becoming a Teacher in Asia, Yulya earned her TEFL certification through an on-site 120-hour course in Thailand. Yulya joined Phuket Has Been Good To Us as a full-time volunteer teacher in November 2015, moving to a paid teaching role from May 2016 onwards. Yulya is very excited to be part of the Phuket Has Been Good To Us team and teaches at Rajaprachanukroh 36 School in Kamala.

HAMANT SINGH
English Teacher At Rajaprachanukroh 36 School Kamala

Hamant is a passionate Singaporean teacher who has been teaching for 8 years across Southeast Asia. Graduating with an honours degree in English, Hamant went on to complete his Postgraduate Diploma in TESOL in 2015. He began his teaching journey in Myanmar, teaching there for two years before moving up to managerial positions. After his time in Myanmar, Hamant spent a few months in Vietnam conducting Singapore International exams for Vietnamese students. In 2015, Hamant joined Phuket Has Been Good To Us and taught at Baan Kalim and RPG 36 schools for two years. From 2017-2019 he helped set up a Singaporean preschool in Jakarta, Indonesia while also acting as the Head Teacher. Now he is joining Phuket Has Been Good To Us again for the 2019-2020 school year.
